Whyfor Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Whyfor ("we", "us") is made by Rustam Deniz Emirali, an independent developer based in Thailand. This policy covers the whyfor.app website and the Whyfor iPhone app.
Short version
- On the website we keep only the email you give us for the waitlist.
- In the app, your reasons and screen-time data stay on your iPhone. We don't receive them.
- We don't sell your data, use advertising trackers, or set cookies.
Website (whyfor.app)
Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address in a database hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1). We use it only to tell you when Whyfor launches and to send occasional product updates. We keep it until you ask us to remove it or we close the waitlist.
iPhone app
- Reasons and usage data. The reasons you write and your app-usage information are stored and processed only on your device, using Apple's Screen Time frameworks. Apple's system limits what apps can read here, and we never receive this data.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts, not your name or email.
Who we share data with
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the waitlist.
- Apple and RevenueCat handle purchases in the app.
We share nothing else, and we never sell data.
Your choices
To be removed from the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or write to privacy@whyfor.app from the address you signed up with. We'll delete it within 30 days. You can also ask us what data we hold about you or ask us to correct it.
Children
Whyfor isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above.
